It’s Music Monday!
This is another new thing I’m trying out here on the blog. Mondays suck – we know this.
But you know what doesn’t suck? Music. (usually)
To make Mondays a little less awful, I thought I’d share with you guys some cool new music to check out.
Maybe you’ve heard of the artists I’ll feature, maybe you haven’t. Maybe you’ll love them! Or maybe you hate them. Well, that’s something you should totally leave in the comments section below!
So, my first featured artist for Music Monday is…
Hozier is a great, rising band coming out of Ireland. Lead singer, and band namesake, Andrew Hozier-Byrne has a deep and haunting voice that can go from gentle to manic in 3/4 time. (That’s a bit of music humor, don’t over-analyze it.)
Their music is an interesting blend of blues, alternative and progressive folk, with a hint of symphony to taste.
Hozier pairs well with Local Natives, Florence and the Machine, Jack White and Coldplay.
3 songs you need to hear right now:
1. Take Me to Church (this one’s gonna blow up the charts)
2. From Eden
3. Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene
I have a feeling Hozier is going to be huge.
Hope you liked the music. And I hope your Monday doesn’t suck!
Sounds fantastic, he’s got a brilliant voice. Thanks so much for the intro – I’ve never heard of him before 😀
You’re very welcome! I’m so glad you liked him. He’s touring in the UK now, but should have some US shows in October. 🙂
